Please note all places in the EMPOWER pillar challenges have been filled for 2026 and the program is currently waitlisted. Registrations for the 2027 program will open in Term 4.
The UNSW Young Women in Engineering (WIE) Pathway Program is an alternate pathway for high school students* in Year 11 and 12 who will be applying for an eligible engineering degree at UNSW Sydney.
If you're a student who wants to make a difference in the world, has an interest in helping others and would love to learn how engineering can make an impact, then this program is for you!
By participating in this program, you may be eligible for an Early Conditional Offer towards an engineering degree at UNSW Sydney. With an Early Conditional Offer, you will be eligible to gain entry to an eligible UNSW Engineering degree with an adjusted ATAR requirement usually within 10 ATAR points lower than the required selection rank.
If you're a student in Years 7 to 10 (school year 2026) you can still register for the program. However, you will not be able to commence the program until you are in Year 11. You will be alerted by email when you become eligible for the program.
Please note that you must be a member of the UNSW Young WIE Club and not have previously participated in the UNSW Young WIE Pathway Program challenges to get involved.
Please register for this program using a personal Google account (e.g. one that ends with @gmail.com), not a Google account provided by your school.
*Inclusive of young women, non-binary and gender diverse students.
